Dr. Brady Schroer brings extensive experience and compassionate leadership to his role as Medical Director at Insight Recovery Center. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biopsychology with an emphasis in Chemistry and went on to attend medical school at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. After medical school, he completed his general psychiatry residency at an internationally renowned psychiatric clinic.
Dr. Schroer has a broad background in psychiatric and addiction medicine, having served for five years as a psychiatric hospitalist in a large hospital setting, where he cared for geriatric patients, treated psychiatric issues on medical and ICU floors, detoxified clients from alcohol and benzodiazepines, provided ECT treatment for depression, and served as both Medical Director and Chief of Psychiatry.
In 2007, Dr. Schroer moved to Western North Carolina to become the Medical Director of the inpatient psychiatric and detoxification units at one of the region’s leading hospitals, serving in that role for seven years. Most recently, he has worked with adolescents and adults ages 15 and older in sober living environments, residential programs, and outpatient settings.
With a deep understanding of addiction from both clinical and personal family perspectives, Dr. Schroer is known for his compassionate approach. He believes strongly in educating clients about their illnesses and empowering them with knowledge. Drawing from years of clinical experience and the wisdom gained from his clients, he is committed to helping individuals move toward a more peaceful and fulfilling life.
